AMOUR DE DEUTZ 2007

AMOUR DE DEUTZ 2007 An emblematic vintage sparkling with elegance

GASTRONOMY
Nov 12, 2019

Champagne Deutz is a leading champagne producer founded in 1838 by William Deutz and Pierre-Hubert Geldermann, in Aÿ, with vineyards of close to 500 acres, of which 100 acres are in the heart of the Champagne region. They produce seven AOC vintages of champagne.

Now considered properly aged, Amour de Deutz 2007 is a wonderful example of the pure style created by Deutz.

It is the perfect accompaniment for delicate, gourmet food such as grilled lobster or a filet of fish simply prepared with olive oil, as well as certain cheeses that also come from the Champagne region.

Tasting notes:

  • A lovely golden robe with fine bubbles, pure, crystalline and limpid, with reflections of bronze.
  • The nose, expressive. The bouquet, rich and full, filled with notes of ripe fruit and white flowers.
  • A fresh, lively taste in the mouth, intense with a hint of citrus.
  • The aromatic palette is complex: quince, apricot, and plum, with notes of candied fruit, honey, and lavender. The flavors blend for a harmonious partition. The long attack leaves us full of emotion and generosity, as if at the end of a long, sun-filled walk in the country.

Assemblage of the wine: Made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes, from Avize (51%), Mesnil-sur-Oger (44%), and Villers-Marmery (5%).

Key points: The Deutz style comprises assemblages with close to 80% Grands Crus and Premiers Crus.

Plus: Also currently available, Amour de Deutz 2009, the jewel of the vineyard
