AUDEMARS PIGUET New design for the 50th anniversary

Now a true icon, the Royal Oak represents 50 years of constant reinvention over the years. In constant interaction with the world from which it takes its inspiration, the model has had over 500 variations over the years, while always preserving its core aesthetic codes such as the barrel shape of the case, the octagonal bezel and the eight visible hexagonal screws.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its iconic watch, the Swiss Haute Horlogerie manufacturer Audemars Piguet will release new automatic models with hours, minutes, seconds and date in 37 mm and chronographs in 38 and 41 mm from the Royal Oak collection throughout 2022. Combining tradition and advanced technology, these new models feature slight adaptations made by the company’s watchmakers, designers and engineers reflecting the continuous improvement process that has driven the Manufacture for generations. In this way, the House is able to push back the limits of design and precision ever further.

The “anniversary” models feature subtle changes on the case in homage to the 5402 model from 1972, the Audemars Piguet signature logo reworked in 24-carat gold obtained by galvanic growth, and 22-carat pink gold oscillating weights specially developed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Royal Oak.
