Ever since David has taken over running Santa Fé, his goal is to maintain the authenticity of this restaurant, which recently celebrated its 50th anniversary.
Many members of David’s team are professionals who have already proved themselves on the St Barth restaurant scene. Most notably is the chef, Christophe, whose cuisine is a veritable culinary melting pot, which includes lots of local ingredients.
The place itself is magical, where two terraces have extensive views of the sea and overlook neighboring islands. The ambiance is convivial and it’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy yourself.
The lunch menu features a large selection of salads, raw and grilled fish, and fresh lobster right from the tank, as well as sandwiches and burgers.
The dinner menu comprises the best of the lunch menu, along with such specialties as local fish soup, frog legs, grilled octopus, sweetbreads, fresh sole, homemade gnocchi with truffle sauce, and delicious desserts created by the pastry chef, Julien.
The chef also adds seasonal specials, as well as the popular mussels with French fries at the end of the week, depending on when they arrive from France.
In a nutshell, Santa Fé enjoys a lovely view of the ocean, constant breezes, silence punctuated by the chirping of birds, and good food. At the end of the day, it doesn’t take much to provide memorable moments at Santa Fé…
The only restaurant in Gouverneur with a panoramic view of neighboring islands. A large tank from which you can choose your own live lobster.
